The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) is expected to release results of the 2017 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations tomorrow, Wednesday.
According to reports, the 2017 Uganda Certificate of Education results will be released tomorrow Wednesday February 7, 2018 at the Office of the Prime Minister conference hall starting 11.00am.
Statistics indicate that 326,149 senior four candidates were registered to sit last year’s UCE examinations at 3,568 centres across the country.
At least 151,894 (46.6%) candidates were from government aided schools while 174,255 (53.4%) were from private schools.
Unlike the 2016 UCE results which were released in the month of January, last year’s results have delayed by a week, leaving many people questioning what could have happened.
Reports say that UNEB used a new criterion to assess the best performing schools unlike the old system where schools were ranked largely by using the percentage of students in Division One at O-level. UNEB had said this method had some weaknesses.
At the start of last year’s UCE exams, UNEB Executive Secretary, Dan Odong said that; “We will use the school effectiveness measure to report performance of secondary schools”.
