A British tourist has collapsed under yet to be established circumstances and died while on a tour in Kabale district, according to Police.
Mukesh Shukla, 60, a British national suddenly collapsed while touring the Batwa community area in Butanda sub county, Kabale district on Saturday.
The deceased together with three other colleagues; Tejal Raval, Nishma Raval and Kalvinder Barad had checked in at Bunyonyi resort along lake Bunyonyi on Friday from Ishasha in Kanungu.
Today, the four had taken a trek to explore the Batwa ecotourism experience when his colleagues noticed he had collapsed.
They transported him to Kabale hospital but unfortunately he died on the way.
The Kigezi Police spokesperson, Elly Matte revealed that the friends to the deceased said he always had some health complications.
“It’s unfortunate that people who had come on a tour get such problems. It is bad that he moved isolated. May be if they had moved together, the friends would have helped him and prevented his death.
Police has launched inquiries to establish the cause of death as the results of the postmortem have not been released.
