IN PICTURES: Here’s What You Missed at the Girls’ Festival

Youths who attended the inaugural Girls’ Festival in Kampala had a light way of celebrating the International Women’s Day given the enchanting entertainment and other engaging activities that characterized the fest.

Organized by youth-focused organization, Reach a Hand Uganda (RAHU) together with other partners, the festival was high on entertainment – music particularly. Top musicians like Eddy Kenzo, Navio, Geo Steady, Spice Diana and American singer Micheal Franti all performed.

Emcees (all female) of the day included Anita Fabiola, Racheal Kay, Oliviel and Sheila Saltfofte. The line-up for deejays had Twonjex, Kathy and Carol.

Beyond the performances, there were a wide range of games (including the traditional ones like kwepena), flash mob performances and other sessions to showcase talent.

There was also sexual reproductive health sessions, free medical tests, free male circumcision, sessions on good nutrition and various other services was held at the Lugogo Hockey Grounds in Kampala.
