The multi-storeyed hall was occupied by some students from Africa Hall and Complex Hall who are currently residing their for their recess period.
Some of the female students, according to Kato, have been left injured and are currently receiving treatment at the University hospital. But one of the students identified as Edith Nansubuga broke her leg.
“Although reports are not yet clear, we suspect that the fire was as a result of poor electrical connection,” Kato said.
He thanked the University management and Police for responding to the disaster in record time.
