Former Leader of Opposition, Winnie Kiiza has quit active politics after serving as Kasese district Woman MP for three consecutive terms.

Winnie says, she will remain active with the forces of change but will not offer herself for political positions.

In an interview, Winnie said she does not intend to seek re-election in the forthcoming 2021 elections as an example against overstaying in power.

“I can only feel successful if I participate in an election of my successor, I have talked a lot against overstaying in power and I want to lead by example.”

She added, “however,  I will hold on to the struggle for good governance, human dignity, equality and justice.”
