Gen Katumba Elevated As Museveni Appoints Kafuuzi Deputy AG, Omona as PPS

President Yoweri Museveni has for the first time since assuming this presidential term in 2016, shuffled members of his cabinet.

The changes have seen Justice and Constitutional Affairs transferred to the Ministry of East African affairs. He has been replaced by Ephraim Kamuntu from the Ministry of Tourism. Tom Butime now heads Tourism.

Beti Kamya has been transferred to the Ministry of lands and replaced by Betty Amongi. Frank Tumwebaze has been moved to Gender and replaced with former police spokesperson, Judith Nabakooba.

Former army commander, Gen Katumba Wamala has been elevated from Minister of State for Works and Transport to full Minister. whereas, Jackson Kafuuzi a sharp legal mind who actively led the removal of presidential age caps from the constitution has been appointed Deputy Attorney General.

The President has also appointed Dr. Kenneth Omona, a Medical Doctor who has been serving as Deputy Treasurer at the NRM Secretariat as his new Principal Private Secretary (PPS)
