Judiciary Asks Courts to Adjourn Matters on Thursday, Friday Ahead of ULS Annual Meet

The Chief Registrar of the Judiciary, Tom Chemutai, has written to all courts requesting them to adjourn all matters on Thursday April 4 and Friday April 5, ahead of the Annual General Meeting of the Uganda Law Society scheduled for Saturday.

“The Uganda Law Society has requested all the courts to adjourn cases involving Advocates on 4th and 5th April 2019 to enable the Advocates to participate in Pre-AGM Conference,” writes Chemutai.

“This is therefore, to request you to adjourn all cases involving members of the Uganda Law Society on 4th and 5th April 2019,” he added.

The third Uganda Law Society Annual Law Conference is scheduled for Thursday and Friday starting 8am till 5pm. But the pre-AGM conference will take place on April 5 at Imperial Resort Beach Hotel starting 2pm under the theme “Institutional Corruption a Threat to Economic Development – The Role of Lawyers”.

The Uganda Law Society (ULS ) is an association of lawyers charged with ensuring high levels of professionalism among lawyers in Uganda, currently headed by Simon Peter Kinobe.
