Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame has fired Governors Emmanuel Gasana and Jean Marie Vianney Gatabazi from office.
Gasana was in charge of the Southern Province while Jean Marie Gatabazi manned the Northern Province.
The development was announced by Prime Minister, Dr. Edouard Ngirente in a statement on Monday Night.
Ngirente said the duo were suspended over accountability Issues.
“His Excellency the President has suspended Emmanuel Gasana, Governor of the Northern Province and Gatabazi Jean Marie Vianney, Governor of the Southern Province owing to matters of accountability under investigation,” reads Ngirente’s statement.
This comes barely a month after Kagame sacked Security Minister Gen Patrick Nyamvumba citing the same reasons.
