Kampala: Four Chinese Nationals, One Indian Perish in Motor Accident

Four people including one Indian and three Chinese nationals have died in a fatal motor accident that occurred in Kampala on Sunday.

The accident occurred along Yusuf Lule road in Kampala at around 12:50pm, according to Police.

It involved a vehicle Reg No UBA 111E, a grey Toyota van.

It is alleged the driver of the said vehicle lost control and the vehicle swerved off the road down into the Golf Course. The vehicle rammed into a tree, killing all the occupants.

The Deputy spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire said the deceased who died on spot were workers of Hema Beverages in Bwaise.

They have been identified as; Kalakada Diileep,  22, an Indian national who was also the driver of the vehicle.

The other victims who perished in the incident is Xu Xiang Sheng , 29, Wei Yea Wei, 28, and Su Wei, 35, all of them Chinese nationals.

Their bodies have been taken to Mulago hospital for postmortem and will later be handed over to the relevant embassies to carry on with burial arrangements .

The vehicle was ferried to Wandegeya Police station as investigations into the matter continue.
