Police in Mukono is holding three people suspected to have been involved in the recent wave of motorcycle thefts.
The suspects have been identified as Kaggwa Dan, Kaweesi Ali and Zirabamuzaale John and are currently detained at Mukono Central Police Station.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, SP Patrick Onyango, the trio admitted to having stolen some of the motorcycles in the area.
“They admitted that they had stolen a motorcycle registration number UEJ 488 Q from Kiteete, Mukono town which has since been recovered,” Onyango told SoftPower News.
Onyango says the suspects have revealed that one of them Kaggwa Dan is their leader, with Kaweesi Ali as the one who looks for market for their stolen motorcycles.
He adds that Police anticipates that the group could be bigger and thus a search for other possible group members has since been launched.
“They will be charged with aggravated robbery,” Onyango says.
