Museveni, Magufuli Sign MoU to Promote Bilateral Trade, Investment

President Yoweri Museveni has Friday held a meeting with Tanzanian President, John Pombe Magufuli where the two leaders discussed issues of mutual interest

Their meeting came as a precursor to the launch of the Uganda-Tanzania Business Forum in Dar es Salaam.

The two leaders will also officiate at the inauguration ceremonies of Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre.

During their meeting, the Presidents signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote bilateral trade and investment for the growth and sustainable development between Uganda and Tanzania.

Museveni arrived in Tanzania on Thursday, in company of the First Lady, Janet Museveni and some government officials.

The two Heads of State are attending the Tanzania Business Forum at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.

Over 500 business people and investors from Uganda and Tanzania are convening. Other delegates include Cabinet ministers and other Government departments and policy makers.

Themed “Promoting bilateral trade and investment for growth and sustainable development”,  the joint business forum is to create an enabling platform that allows the private sector from the two countries to share experiences, create business to business networks, identify opportunities and challenges of on-going trade and investment, and to showcase their products and services at an exhibition.
