Museveni to Preside Over National Prayer Breakfast; American Pastor, Denis Onyango to Speak

President Yoweri Museveni will preside over the upcoming 21st National Prayer Breakfast which will take place on Tuesday October 8 at Pearl of Africa Hotel in Kampala.

Addressing the media on Friday, the Chairperson of National Prayer Breakfast organising committee, also State Minister for Planning, David Bahati said that the breakfast meeting brings together people from all faiths and political parties, high profile representative from all branches of government, members of the diplomatic corps, the business community, national and international guests.

Bahati said the essence of the prayer breakfast is to remind legislators and leaders in the country of their role in making laws, policies and decisions that respect and develop mankind as children of God and to deepen our relationship with God.

“It is also to give our nation that spiritual strength, to renew and strengthen those bonds of brotherhood with the faithful across our country and around the world,” Bahati said.

The Minister added that the National Prayer Breakfast also gives the leaders the opportunity to ask for God’s guidance and express gratitude for what he has done.

The theme this year is: The Power of Character in Leadership” and is drawn from Titus 2:7-8 in the Bible.

American Pastor, Johnny Enlow, who authored ‘Seven Mountains of Prophecy’ among other books will deliver the keynote. He is co-senior pastor of Daystar Church in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.

“This year, we chose Pr. Johnny Enlow because of his passion to awaken our generation to the reality of the God of all of life, who not only cares for our souls, but also has practical solutions to offer through His sons and daughters for every problem that exists in society,” Bahati told reporters on Friday.

During the event, Uganda Cranes Captain and Goal Keeper, Denis Onyango will give his testimony glorifying God for the victories he has gained throughout life.
