NRM Contributes Shs 380m towards Uganda’s Response to Covid-19

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) led by President Yoweri Museveni, have today, Sunday, contributed Shs380 million towards Uganda’s the campaign against COVID-19.

The cheque was presented to Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda by NRM’s Vice Chairman, Hajj Musa Kigongo at the Office of the Prime Minister in Kampala. NRM Secretary General Kasule Lumumba and Treasurer Rose Namayanja Nsereko witnessed the handover.

Kigongo who applauded the National Task Force, reminded Ugandans to respect and observe the fatherly guidance from President Yoweri Museveni on how to prevent the spread of coronavirus without questions.

On his part, Rugunda said NRM had set a good example and called upon other members of Inter Party Organisation for Dialogue and other Ugandans to emulate them.

“I salute the National Chairman and President, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the entire leadership of NRM for demonstrating their commitment towards serving the people of Uganda,” Rugunda said.

Lumumba hailed the Prime Minister and his team for their commitment towards fighting the virus.

“As a Party in power, we are grateful to your committee that despite all challenges, you have brought us this far,” Lumumba said.

Several companies and individuals have responded in big numbers to Government’s call to join hands in the fight against corona virus.
