Rhona Arinaitwe is MTN’s new Senior Manager – Corporate Communications. She will be responsible for Reputation, External and Internal Communications as well as Stakeholder management.
Rhona is a seasoned strategic communications specialist with over 8 years’ experience in corporate brand communications planning and management mainly in the FMCG industry.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications majoring in Public Relations from Makerere University and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Edinburgh Business School-Heriot watt University.
She is also an a member of the Public Relations Association Uganda (PRAU) with expertise ranging from corporate communications, media relations, digital media content development, crisis management, issues communications and brand building.
Rhona joins MTN from Uganda Breweries Limited where she has been the Corporate Relations Manager- communications and sustainability, in charge of developing and implementing their corporate communications, reputation management and handling the company’s community programs through the EABL foundation.
While at UBL, she was instrumental to the company’s transformation and growth onto digital media, the relaunch of the company’s corporate Identity and improving their reputation index.
She also spearheaded various community projects inclusive of a partnership with the National Forestry Authority (NFA) that saw the reforestation of 109 hectares of Navugulu forest in Mpigi and the company’s responsible drinking campaign that scooped BEST CSR campaign in Uganda in the GIZ CSR awards 2013 and the award of Best Social/Digital campaign in the PR Excellence awards held by the Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU) in 2014/2015.
