South Sudan New Epicentre of Covid-19 Contagion as 21 Ugandan Truck Drivers Test Positive at Elegu Border

Health Minister Aceng on recent visit to Elegu border point to assess response to Covid-19

Uganda has on Wednesday 27 May recorded 28 new cases of Covid-19, raising the total count to 281.

Of the 28 new cases announced today, 21new cases are from the border points of  Elegu from South Sudan, while seven are contacts to previously confirmed truck drivers. The contacts were under quarantine at the time of test.
The Ministry of Health said in a statement that seven positive foreign truck drivers were asked to return to their countries for treatment.
