The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga will soon resume her normal duties of steering the House after her return from Nairobi, Kenya where she was receiving medical treatment.
Kadaga was last month airlifted to the Agha Khan Hospital in Nairobi for further management after days of admission at Nakasero Hosital in Kampala.
Kadaga had been admitted after a sudden illness having returned from a 10- day long working visit to Morocco and United States hence suffering fatigue-related illness.
“Yes the Speaker returned over the weekend and she is very fine. She is currently under bed rest but she will return to her duty soon,” said Sam Obo Speakers Principal Press Secretary.
“Like anyone else, when you return, you would still need to havesome rest at your home before you resume work. The Speaker will return to work soon after bed rest,” Obo added.
Last week, the Speaker while speaking from Nairobi said she was in better health.
“I am glad to report that due to God’s Mercy and untiring efforts of doctors in Uganda and Kenya, I do now have a better bill of health,” Kadaga said in a post on Facebook.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank fellow citizens and people of goodwill across the globe who have been praying for my quick recovery”.
She lauded President Yoweri Museveni for his prompt concern and “taking time off his very busy schedule to check on me in Nakasero and Aga Khan hospitals”.
“I look forward to better health and to serving Ugandans once again”.
