Radio and communications personality, Val Okecho has joined Vivo Energy Uganda, the company that distributes and markets Shell branded fuels and lubricants.
At Vivo Energy, Okecho will be serving as the new Corporate Communications Manager. His immediate former role was Corporate Communications Manager at telecom giant, MTN Uganda. He had been with the telco for 2 years and 2 months.
His work with Vivo Energy began in June this year.
Okecho is also a radio presenter at the Kisementi-based 91.3 Capital FM, a radio he has worked with for seven years.
He is currently serving as the Vice President for the Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU), the body that brings together PR practitioners in Uganda.
Okecho is a graduate of Makerere University where he attained a Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences.
He has previously worked with Eskom Uganda Limited, Sanyu FM, Publics Africa Communications Ltd and Terp Group.
Vivo Energy is the company behind the Shell brand in Africa. It sources, distribute, market and supply Shell’s fuels and lubricants to retail and commercial customers across the continent. The brand has a presence across Africa, with Shell service stations present in 15 countries.
In Uganda, Vivo Energy has been operating since 2013.
