The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen David Muhoozi has noted that the army is working with all other sister agencies to find lasting solutions to the existing pockets of criminality in the country.
The General who was presiding over the decoration ceremony of newly promoted army officers at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Mbuya said that they are doing all that it takes to do away with criminality in the country.
“The security situation in the country is not alarming; it’s you that amplifies it, yes there have been a number of issues which I think as the security family we need to find solutions for and we are working out solutions,” Muhoozi told the media during an interview after the function.
“And we shall handle those issues especially crime which has been a little bit pronounced, not that it hasn’t been there.
He observed that the prevailing criminality is fed by many things which are society developed, brought about by the improvement in the country’s economy, population increase as well as advancement in technology.
“It’s not about lamenting but about looking for solutions that work and I think with the team at Police and other security organs, we shall find consensus on what to do moving forward.”
He downplayed reported fights between security agencies. Asked if ISO and Police differing reports about the murder of foreigners in hotels did not amount to a fight, he said they (security) are working together and emphasized inter security agency jointness.
“There could be a difference in opinion on case management, but there are no major differences,” Gen Muhoozi told SoftPower News.
